Town Plan Update, Manteo

A 20-year update of the Town Plan. This plan was the result of collaboration between a state agency, the municipality and the state university. It called for a series of community-suggested projects derived from extensive interviews with town residents and their elected representatives. Its main objectives were to better integrate the various neighborhoods within the town, to provide additional recreation places for youth, residents and tourists, to increase public open space, to create a more vibrant commercial center and to provide a seamless connection between the town and its waterfront.
